Enigma (Farewell Desktop)

I semi-lied. I thought that my Windows 7 Desktop was going to be my last one, until I heard about Enigma 2.5 When I checked my Deviantart today, I had 1 deviation. I checked and I found out that Enigma 2.5 had been released. I thought "Okay Its going to be a bug update with some little new features added", but boy was I wrong. I read what was new and I was really phys’d. I downloaded it, and I was just in shock as to how this was all done. I even reviewed the source code, and it was just amazing.

What suprises me is that its Version 2.5, not 3, even though this is the biggest update to not only Enigma but to rainmeter as a whole, since rainmeter is now shipped with Enigma. This is probably the biggest accomplishment for Kaelri, next to having his skin featured on Lifehacker. A BIG Congragulations to Kaelri for going this far. I don’t think that anybody really thought he would go this far.

ANYWAYS, back to the desktop. The new features list is just AMAZINGLY long, and can be found in Lifehackers guide on it here. This is my official "Farewell Desktop" since my Windows 7 desktop wasn’t really up to par (teknoftw).

Transformation Pack
As for my Transformation Pack, it will still be there, but as for the updating part, it is dead, because I am not working on any desktops, so there is nothing to update.

Kaelri
So, since this is my last desktop, and I just had to make it to honor Kealri and his hardwork, rainmeter, and anybody else that revolutionized rainmeter. I did not know Kealri on a personal level, but I did work with him, not anything directly related to his Enigma, but on a more helpful level, when I was developing LineEnigma, a modded version of Enigma 2.0. I think that he is around 70-80% of the reason why Rainmeter is still being in development, because of the popular use of his skin, and because of that skin, advertising rainmeter. Its no doubt that Lifehacker also plays a huge role in keeping rainmeter alive. Its nice to know that Liquid Crystal Discourse is back on the road, but it does sadden me that I am not going to be following that road.

Why are you leaving Saad
Most people are asking why I am leaving. After spending a quick 6 months making desktops, and after going on vacation to my cousins house, did I realize that I don’t have the computer to do this. I have a 6 year old desktop computer, and being that old already balls the message home, that it isnt the fastest. its a 2.4 GHz with 512 RAM. The RAM is where it kills me, and because of that, I need to use the RAM sparingly for other more important tasks. Rainmeter is just another knot, and I don’t want that to be. I am a 16 year old High school student, and I don’t have time for my computer to load rainmeter for the time (which I already have in the taskbar) and CPU stats. Its time that I tune my computer to make it as fast and I can make i, and leave it at that.

When I first tried Google Sidebar in 2006/2007 it had a habit of freezing up. My favorite was the NASA video but often my entire computer would have problems. Fast forward to 2008 and Google Desktop works better. I’m using a few gadgets including a clock, the weather and just added back Remember The Milk by CATsoft.
